Pandemic Covid-19 and E-Learning in Higher Education: Dance Student’S Experiences

Abstract

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the learning environment in higher education is shifting towards online learning. There is no exception to teaching and studying dance art to students in institutions. The purpose of this study is to better understand the effectiveness of the e-learning system for learning and pedagogical purposes in knowledge sharing and students’ attitudes. Therefore, the research was carried out to assess the practice of undergraduate students in Malaysian public universities in the topic of dance art education. Quantitative research was performed to assess the practices of undergraduate students in Malaysian public universities during the semester, focusing primarily on four key issues: i) student’s learnability, ii) experience’s, iii) usability, and student's intention to use towards online dance art learning. The study found that social media and online networking were used by higher education art students to develop their art performances and dance skills. These students showed strongly in their embrace of online learning, and in their experiences doing so as part of their academic studies..
